Tessema Getahun started photography as a child in his homeland, Ethiopia. He honed his skills starting with modest cameras and using his intuition to capture images from the abundant natural environment of his homeland including birds and wild animals in unusual circumstances using taxing techniques of stalking and seizing opportunities as they unfolded with his ever present cameras.

Over the years as cameras progressed and lenses improved, Tessema avidly adopted new technologies and the emerging software allowed him to expand his technical capabilities. Over the years he has thought himself to become a master craftsman with innumerable pictures of birds doing stunts or in unusual poses in the Ethiopian Rift Valley, Ethiopian people going about in their usual daily activities who are not aware that they are being stalked by the avid photographer. His portfolio of pictures through many years of accumulation have been generously shared with friends and family as well as in a well-received art show in a famous gallery in Addis Ababa.

Tessema who has moved to New York City has now improved his mastery through additional training and workshops and has reached the pinnacle of his art. He is now ready to start life entirely devoted to his art. He will make his services available for any occasions including family, work, adventure or special personal photography in a variety of settings.
